Anthony Martial Joins AEK Athens on Three-Year Deal

Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has signed a three-year contract with Greek club AEK Athens after leaving Old Trafford this summer. The 28-year-old concludes his nine-year tenure at United, where he made 317 appearances and netted 90 goals since joining from Monaco for a then-world record fee of £36 million for a teenager in 2015.

AEK Athens currently leads the Greek Super League, having won three of their first four matches and finishing as runners-up last season. Expressing his excitement about the move, Martial stated, “I’m very happy. AEK was a chance for me, and I want to give the best of myself to win trophies and bring joy to the fans.”

Before his stint at United, Martial began his senior career at Lyon before moving to Monaco for £4.4 million. While he has scored two goals in 30 appearances for the French national team, he has not featured in an international match since 2021.
