NBA Investigates Joel Embiid’s Alleged Locker Room Altercation with Reporter

The NBA has launched an investigation following reports of an alleged altercation between Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and a reporter in the locker room. According to sources, Embiid confronted the reporter over an article that referenced his son, his late brother, and raised questions about his fitness and professionalism.

Following the 76ers’ recent 124-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Embiid reportedly addressed the reporter, saying, “The next time you bring up my dead brother and my son again, you are going to see what I’m going to do to you, and I’m going to have to live with the consequences.” Witnesses allege that Embiid, 30, then pushed the reporter before a Sixers official intervened.

This incident came after Embiid voiced frustration over criticism during a press conference on Friday, where he defended his commitment to the team. The seven-time NBA All-Star and reigning MVP has yet to play this season due to a knee injury.

In response to the altercation, the NBA confirmed that an investigation is underway. Sixers president Daryl Morey also stated that the organization has launched its own inquiry, emphasizing that they are taking the situation “very seriously.”
