Cyrus Christie Returns to Swansea City on a Short-Term Deal
Swansea City have secured the services of defender Cyrus Christie on a contract running until the end of the season. The 32-year-old, a free agent since parting ways with Hull City last season, had been training with the Swans since early October to maintain fitness.
Head coach Luke Williams praised Christie’s versatility, highlighting his ability to operate in multiple defensive roles. This marks Christie’s second stint at the club, having previously impressed during a loan spell in the second half of the 2021-22 season, where he featured in 23 games and scored three goals.
“We struggle a little bit with Championship experience, and he gives us a physicality that we don’t have a huge amount of without the likes of Ben Cabango and Harry Darling,” Williams said.
Christie’s return provides the Swans with a seasoned option as they aim to bolster their squad depth in pursuit of their Championship ambitions.
