NBA Season Opener: Suns Edge Clippers in Overtime

The Phoenix Suns kicked off their NBA season with a thrilling 116-113 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, thanks to strong performances from Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Durant led the way with 25 points, while Beal contributed 24 points, showcasing their scoring prowess in a closely contested match.

As the game neared its conclusion, Durant scored in the final 30 seconds of regulation to tie the game at 103-103, narrowly preventing the Clippers from sealing the win with a buzzer-beater attempt from James Harden that fell short.

In overtime, Beal helped the Suns pull ahead, making two crucial free throws to give Phoenix a 114-110 lead with just over a minute remaining. Harden, who finished with a solid 29 points and 12 rebounds, had a chance to equalize but missed the second of two free throws with only five seconds left. Jusuf Nurkic then sealed the win for the Suns by sinking two free throws at the other end.

For the Clippers, Ivica Zubac added 21 points to Harden’s strong performance. Following this game, the Suns will stay in California to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, while the Clippers are set to travel to Denver for a match against the Nuggets.

In other NBA action, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 139-104, with Stephen Curry contributing 17 points. Additionally, the Orlando Magic secured a 116-97 victory over the Miami Heat, and the Milwaukee Bucks won 124-109 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
