Adrien Rabiot Set for Marseille Move After Leaving Juventus

France midfielder Adrien Rabiot is set to return to Ligue 1, having agreed in principle to join Marseille. The 29-year-old, who has been a free agent since his departure from Juventus in July, will undergo a medical before completing the transfer.

Rabiot brings a wealth of experience to Marseille, boasting 48 caps for the French national team and five successful years at Juventus. During his time in Turin, he helped the Italian giants secure a Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and one Italian Super Cup. His return to France marks a significant homecoming after his earlier career at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he made his senior debut.

The midfielder has reportedly been on the radar of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, but opted for a move back to his homeland. Rabiot’s experience will be invaluable to Marseille as they aim to challenge at the top of Ligue 1 under new manager Roberto de Zerbi. The club is currently second in the league and has made several high-profile signings, including Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

Rabiot also featured for France at Euro 2024 in Germany, where they reached the semi-finals before being knocked out by eventual champions Spain.

Marseille’s official statement confirmed the agreement, noting that Rabiot’s signing is subject to the results of his medical examination. With his arrival, Marseille is reinforcing their ambitions for the season, as they look to compete with Ligue 1’s top teams.
